Fourth-grader Brandon Quick, 9, holds a card that he made for his teacher, Deadra Oliver. Brandon's mom gave him a scratch-off lottery ticket and won $35, and he will give Ms. Oliver - who is sick with breast cancer - $5 of his winnings. Ms. Oliver returned to her Apple Valley home Wednesday for the first time since mid-January.
