I WALKED INTO a local pharmacy Monday night, and what do they have stacked to the ceiling next to the half-price Christmas goods? Valentine's merchandise! Wouldn't it be great if we could have a little break before another full-scale consumer assault?
MY RANT IS about the handicapped parking. I'm young and I have a physical handicap, but you can't see it. You can't tell by looking at me. I just wanted to let a lot of people know that some days, people who are handicapped feel good and they don't have to park in a handicapped parking spot, but some days, they do feel bad and they do have to use those handicapped spots. Don't judge people by how they look.
THIS IS IN response to the comment about the CBS special with Michael Jackson. I just want to say that Michael Jackson is a special artist and I enjoyed the show of his No. 1 hits. I'm not saying he's innocent, but have you ever heard of false allegations? When will people ever be innocent until proven guilty?
HOW DUMB CAN we be? Sending aid to Iran is just giving aid to the murderous religious scum who are exporting their fanatics to kill and maim our soldiers, brave men and women who are trying to keep the peace - a peace broken by the fatwas of Islamic leaders.
I HAVE A RANT about our so-called justice system. Michael Jackson is walking around a free man, and so is Kobe Bryant. But ... Chad Muns has been sitting in jail for almost a year. Can anyone make any sense out of that?
I'M TIRED OF y'all disregarding my rant about the Board of Education not having their graduation ceremonies at the Bell Auditorium or in the Civic Center. They at least need a bigger place because school auditoriums will not accommodate everyone they would invite. They need to go back to using the Bell or the Civic Center.
THIS IS A RANT for your paper's use of the word Indians when referring to Native Americans. I don't see you use the words wop, spic, mick, etc. Be fair. If you are going to denigrate one ethnic group, denigrate all equally.
IN RESPONSE TO the person who defined George W. Bush as "not being the second coming of Christ" and "having an I.Q. of an idiot." If you had a friend who graduated from Andover, Yale, and Harvard, learned to fly a U.S. fighter jet, was a two-term governor of the second largest state and President of the United States of America, would you consider that person as having an I.Q. of an idiot? Perhaps we should look at who has an I.Q. of an idiot. I don't think it would be George W. Bush.
TO WHOEVER PAVED the area of Washington Road between Brandon Wilde and Publix, you sure didn't do a very good job. It's like riding on a roller coaster, especially in the westbound lane. Just thought you would like to know.
TO THE PERSON that believes DUI isn't a crime, talk to someone that has been involved in a DUI accident. I'm sure they'll agree - NOT! If you want a safer community, get out there and do something about it! These men and women of law enforcement can't do it alone, you know. There are community watch programs and even police auxiliary programs.
I HAVE THE following rant: Thank you very much Martha Burk. Your escapade here in Augusta last year has cost us taxpayers almost $46,000 and achieved nothing. Please stay away from Augusta in future and tackle some real worthy causes elsewhere. Mind you there is not much glamour in these causes and there won't be a lot of press coverage, but think of the good you will be doing.
IF WIDESPREAD FLOUTING of immigration laws is justified because they are "bad laws," does widespread running red lights mean that stop lights are bad?
