When George and Carol Krist decided to downsize, they knew they didn’t want to leave Woodside Plantation.
“There’s a real sense of community here,” said Carol, who is vice president of the Women of Woodside, a social and philanthropic organization.
The couple found the perfect home in The Reserve at Woodside Plantation through The Festival of Homes, a Women of Woodside fundraiser showcasing new construction, last spring.
“We both fell in love with it,” Carol said.
Although the homes on the tour are not occupied, they are decorated by area interior designers. The decorators from Nandina’s styled the Krists’ home for the tour. The designers were part of the home’s construction and made some modifications to the floor plan, such as adding a cut-out from the kitchen to the living room, which the Krists like.
Though they didn’t keep the entire look Nandina’s created when they moved into the home in August, they did enlist Nandina’s and The Furniture Connection’s designers to help with the décor.
The home features sleek lines and muted colors and has many windows which allow natural light in.
“I love all the windows,” George said.
One of his favorite spots is the bonus room above the garage which he uses as his office and exercise room.
The views also sold Carol on the home. Another great one is from the screened-in back porch, where they can see the golfers play through.
