DALLAS --- Mike Modano scored the go-ahead goal on a 5-on-3 advantage with 3:12 remaining as the Dallas Stars won their seventh in a row, 2-1 over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday, to match a franchise record.

Phoenix goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov stopped the first 40 shots he faced before Dallas' Steve Ott tied it at 1 at 11:45 of the third period on a shot that glanced off the goalie's right shoulder.

Ex-Star Niko Kapanen scored for the Coyotes, but Phoenix lost its fourth in a row.

Marty Turco was back in goal for the Stars after missing the two previous games with a sore neck.

CANADIENS: Police say two Montreal players were arrested outside a Tampa, Fla., nightclub.

Defenseman Ryan O'Byrne has been accused of stealing a woman's purse, and right wing Thomas Kostopoulos has been charged with resisting an officer, a Tampa police report says.

O'Byrne was charged with felony grand theft. Kostopoulos faces a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence.

AVALANCHE: Colorado's top three forwards -- captain Joe Sakic, Ryan Smyth and Paul Stastny -- are back on the ice.

Sakic (hernia surgery), Smyth (ankle) and Stastny (appendectomy) participated in practice.
