WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “This is his first varsity game as a starting quarterback. You can do all the practicing you want, but when it comes game time, it’s a little bit different. He didn’t panic. He showed good leadership, which we preach him to do. He let the game play out. He just executed what we practice.” – Fox Creek coach Derrick Quinn
WHAT HE SAID: “When I saw all my teammates were down, I just felt like I had to do something about it and be the person I am to help the team win. The first drive of the second half and maybe third quarter, yeah, the nerves were kicking in. I was settling in. When I scored, I just felt at home.”
