Rebels blank Eagles

PLAY OF THE GAME: Hephzibah senior running back Antoine Nabors showed off his speed and strength with a 45-yard touchdown run through the Josey defense just before halftime. He took the handoff from quarterback Terry Robinson at midfield, dashed left, cut back against the grain, spun out of one tackle, broke two more tackles along the left sideline and sprinted to the goal line to put the hosts ahead 41-0 with 2:03 to go in the first half.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Robinson completed only three passes, but two went for touchdowns in the first half. Robinson passed for 102 yards.

WHY JOSEY LOST: The Eagles couldn't muster any offense, and their ground game was held to minus-14 yards.

WHY HEPHZIBAH WON: The Rebels were dominant from the opening kickoff. After forcing Josey to punt on its opening possession, Hephzibah went 59 yards in six plays in less than two minutes.

QUOTEBALE: "We executed in every phase of the game. I told our team in the locker room that our first half was as fine a first half of football as I've seen in 18 years of coaching." -- Hephzibah coach John Bowen
