Musketeers snap skid

RICHMOND ACADEMY 26, WESTSIDE 18

PLAY OF THE GAME: Richmond Academy junior quarterback Marquan Medlock 's 58-yard scoring strike down the sideline to junior Jerrell Anderson 3:51 before halftime stole Westside's momentum and pulled the Musketeers within 18-16.

WHY RICHMOND ACADEMY WON: The Musketeers' big-play weapons accounted for two touchdowns and their defense held Westside to 9 yards of offense in the second half.

The victory snapped their 17-game losing streak and was the first win over Westside since 1999.

WHY WESTSIDE LOST: The Patriots' running attack deserted them in the second half and their skill players also suffered from heat-related cramps.

STAR OF THE GAME: Medlock led the come-from-behind victory, passing for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
