LAST WEEK: Mitchell thrilled area fans as his Tigers played three games in Augusta. He took only 10 shots but scored 13 points in an overtime loss at Josey. He also had 10 rebounds and seven blocks. Mitchell poured in 32 points Friday at Westside, then was one-half of a thrilling points parade at Laney. The Alabama-bound Mitchell scored 28 points and ripped down eight rebounds in a tight two-point victory.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "You just don't know where Tony is coming from. The ball goes up and all of sudden, 'bam,' here Tony comes down swooping from the lights. He shoots and it's like the ball drops out of the lights he's so high up. His daddy (Tony Mitchell Sr.) came up with that. Tony is the best I've ever coached. He is the best player in Georgia. But nobody knows about him because of the area he lives in. He's the best in the state, but nobody gives him his due props." -- Swainsboro coach Leroy Jordan

MITCHELL ON HIS GAME: "It's still a lot of fun to throw down a dunk in a game. It never really gets old. ... Our team is coming together. We're learning how to play together as a team, but we've still got a lot of work to do before the playoffs."
