RiverDogs hold off GreenJackets
From Staff Reports CHARLESTON, S.C. - Augusta's GreenJackets had the tying run at third with two out, but Charleston reliever Mike Venafro got pinch-hitter Aaron Edwards on an easy groundout and the RiverDogs won 4-3.
The victory gave Charleston a sweep of the two-game mini-series and dropped Augusta to 2« games behind South Atlantic League Southern Division leader Columbus. The RedStixx beat Columbia's Capital City Bombers 4-1.

GreenJackets manager Jay Loviglio opted to send Edwards to the plate in the ninth because Edwards had 10 hits in 26 at-bats coming into the game.
Three of Charleston's runs came in the fourth inning on back-to-back doubles by Cliff Brumbaugh, Shawn Gallagher and Chris Briones.
Dempster got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth when he got Ovidio Frias to hit into a double play.
The Macon Braves visit Augusta for a two-game series starting tonight, followed by a two-game set with the RiverDogs and a two-game visit by the Bombers.
