Local Voter Turnout may be Low

The Fourth of July holiday, the Olympics, the Motor Voter Act
and uncontested races will all play a part in keeping voter
turnout low in Tuesday's primaries, said elections officials in
Richmond and Columbia counties.
Lynn Bailey, Richmond County
Board of Elections executive
director, is predicting a lower
than usual turnout of 25 to 28
percent. The usual average is
37 percent.
