Area vegetation got a welcome drink Friday as showers finally
broke through a near two-week dry spell. Between .78 inches an inch of rain dampened the area
and high temperature only reached 78 degrees, the National
Weather Service reported.

Radioactive glass
project going full steam

good for the world's largest waste glass-making plant.
The Defense Waste Processing Facility has filled 25 steel canisters
with highly radioactive waste glass since April 29, and is working
round-the-clock on the 26th, Savannah River Site reported Friday.
