On Sunday, family and friends paid tribute to Rev. C.S. Hamilton, who has spent four decades as a pastor at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, the same church where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke in the height of his own career.

Augusta city officials say neglect and abuse of city equipment is a common problem. In the past year, several pieces of equipment have either been destroyed or sidelined for months because of negligent operation

Augustan crowned Miss Georgia
Shea Olliff, Miss Northeast Georgia, was named Miss Georgia 1996 Saturday night at the pageant in Columbus, Ga. She is the daughter of Cail and Jean Olliff of Evans. Her uncle, Dr. Joe Olliff Jr., is the former principal of Butler Comprehensive High School.
