Grovetown's Reynolds is fall sports player of the week

Grovetown senior Tess Reynolds is a standout on the Warriors' volleyball team.

HIGHLIGHTS: Reynolds recorded nine kills each in wins over Evans and Westside last week, and she added four blocks against the Lady Patriots. She totaled 29 kills, 14 aces and seven blocks over four matches for the week.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “She’s doing great. We made her the senior captain and I think she’s handling that role famously. She’s doing fabulous. Obviously, by the stats, you can tell that she’s the lead hitter for a reason. She puts the ball down when I need her to. When I first got her as a freshman, she was a diehard track person and volleyball was second. Since then, her love of volleyball has exceeded track. Now she wants to do volleyball in college and she’s got a couple of Division I offers.” – Coach Amy Slagle

WHAT SHE SAID: “I have to make sure that my hits are very consistent and I have to make sure that I’m being smart about where I’m putting the ball down. I have to play for my teammates because if I’m the go-to hitter that means I have a big responsibility, and I just want to make sure I maintain that role.”
