Rome Braves rally to shock Augusta GreenJackets

Rome 7, Augusta 6 (10 inn.)

In Rome, Ga., Ryan Query drove in the game-winning run on a single in the 10th inning, capping off the Rome Braves’ stunning 7-6 comeback victory over the Augusta GreenJackets on Wednesday.

Rome, which leads the South Atlantic League’s Southern Division, trailed 6-0 heading to the bottom of the eighth. The Braves scored four runs in the eighth and two in the ninth to send the game into extra innings.

All seven of the Braves’ runs were charged to the GreenJackets bullpen, which spoiled a stellar outing by starter Kyle Crick. The right-hander allowed just one hit and three walks in seven shutout innings. He had seven strikeouts.

The Braves and GreenJackets wrap up their series today at 1 p.m.
