GreenJackets fall to Suns in 10 innings

In Hagerstown, Md., J.R. Higley’s RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Suns a 5-4 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets on Saturday night.

The hit came off reliever Kevin Couture, who entered the game at the start of the inning.

Augusta scored three runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Myles Schroder’s homer to lead off the inning. The other runs scored on Jose Flores’ sacrifice fly and Ben Thomas’ single.

Augusta scored again in the seventh inning on a wild pitch to give Augusta a 4-3 lead.

Hagerstown tied in the seventh on a Bryce Ortega RBI single, and that’s the way it stayed until Higley’s game-winning hit in the 10th.

Augusta starter Adalberto Majia gave up four runs in 6⅔ innings of work on nine hits.
