OF NOTE: Muktha has traveled the world with her family, but says a summer in Valdosta, Ga., was her most enlightening experience. Participating in the Governor’s Honors Program with other gifted math students made her more outgoing and adventurous. “I was even able to learn a new language in six weeks well enough to get myself around France,” she said.
NOMINATOR’S QUOTE: “The maturity of her mind is reflected clearly by her ability to strike almost a perfect balance between Indian and American culture. Muktha, indeed, is one of the best young adults that I have known.” – Neera Young, AP chemistry teacher
