Teeing off - Scott Brown

A three-time Division III champion at USC Aiken, Brown showed his promise by making it into the Nationwide Tour's Chattanooga event in his first attempt at Monday qualifying before he even turned professional.

"Kind of got my feet wet in a big event before stepping in as a pro in all these other ones, so I was playing with a lot of confidence," he said.

Also stopped at the second stage of Q-school at a Florida course that didn't suit him, Brown will play primarily on the Hooters Tour and try Monday qualifying at the higher levels. He has his eye set on making the same leap Vaughn Taylor made onto the Nationwide Tour four years ago.

"I would be disappointed this year if I didn't," he said. "That's one of my goals to at least have my Nationwide Tour card by the end of the year."
