Larry Mize's son headed to Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The son of former Masters champion Larry Mize has signed with Furman's golf team for next year.

Paladins golf coach Todd Satterfield says Robert Mize chose Furman and will join the school for the 2011-12 season. Mize's father, Larry, won the 1987 Masters with a long chip-in to defeat Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros in a playoff at Augusta National.

Larry Mize won four times on the PGA Tour. He currently competes on the Champions Tour.

Robert Mize is a senior at the Brookstone School in Columbus, Ga. He took medalist honors at the Class A championship tournament and helped his team win a state title earlier this month.
