Tiger Woods schedules Masters interview

Tiger Woods will speak to the media on April 5, the Monday of Masters Week and the first day of practice round play.

Woods, currently ranked the No. 1 golfer in the world but plagued by a sex scandal, is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m., Augusta National Golf Club announced today.

This will be the first time Woods has spoken to a gathering of reporters since November. He read a prepared statement on Feb. 19 that lasted nearly 14 minutes, and Sunday he granted brief one-on-one interviews to ESPN and The Golf Channel.

The Masters released the schedule of pre-tournament interviews today and Woods is the only one scheduled for Monday.

Woods traditionally speaks to the media on Tuesdays of Masters Week.

Defending champion Angel Cabrera, two-time winner Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus, who will be an honorary starter this year, highlight Tuesday's interview schedule.

Billy Payne, club and tournament chairman, will speak Wednesday, April 7 at 12:30 p.m.
