For me, the holidays hit in mid-November. It was a Saturday - a beautiful, clear, crisp fall day. I walked into Sam's. Everywhere it was Christmas.
Tugging at the heartstrings

The kids had a fall break some weeks back, and we took advantage of it by visiting my brother and his family in Pittsburgh. Need a break from read-aloud fare starring creatures such as Sneetches, Wockets and Zizzer Zazzer Zuzzes? If your little one's bedtime routine absolutely must include Dr. Seuss, but you can't hop on pop or sample green eggs and ham with Sam one more time this week, Peculiar Zoo is the book for you.

Last month we asked children ages 4 to 10 to enter our Fantasy of Lights coloring contest. We published a basic line drawing of a Christmas Tree and asked them to decorate their tree with pencils, crayons and markers, keeping in mind that this was the "Festival of Lights."
