The school year brings with it a certain ritual, doesn't it? Not the Open House, the back-to-school shopping, or the ''My Summer Vacation'' papers... but the falling back into the same routines and patterns weıve had before. In my house, you can think of it as Dadıs hibernation.

Vacation sure isnıt what it used to be. This fact was driven home during our recent family trip to a lovely island off the coast of South Carolina. I have only been a father for two years and donıt think I was fully prepared for the many ways that vacation has changed.
