Bottom line

As if you needed further proof that the presidential campaign is less about tackling the issues and more about what supposed dirt will stick to the rival candidate, we have this to reflect on from Bill Clinton.

Stumping in Sparks, Nev., on Tuesday for his wife, longtime political player Hillary, the former president tried to frame Democratic challenger Barack Obama as the "establishment" candidate, based apparently on the fact that Obama has won the endorsement of Nevada's largest labor union, the 60,000-member Culinary Union.

Hear that, unions? Remember all the times the Clintons kowtowed to you to get your votes? Back then, you were the proud, strong backbone of U.S. labor. Now, you're the "establishment."

Will you remember that when you go to the polls?
