Athens boy, 14, charged with dealing pot

A boy complained to his mother that some other students at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School had been trying to sell him marijuana, and after the mother brought it to the attention of school officials, a resource officer was able to identify and arrest one of the young dealers Thursday, Athens-Clarke police said.

The 14-year-old boy had four small bags of pot hidden in a sock, according to police.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana in a school zone, police said, and released into the custody of a parent.
