Two indicted in CVS robbery

Two people were indicted this week on charges related to a CVS pharmacy robbery on Jan. 15.

An indictment returned Tuesday says Cortez Marcus Carr entered the CVS Pharmacy at 1633 Gordon Highway armed with a .22 caliber handgun while Latishia Cierra Carter waited in a car outside and served as a lookout.

Carr is further charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for brandishing the weapon and attempted removal of a weapon from a public official for trying to take a sheriff investigator’s sidearm, according to the indictment.

During his attempt to grab the investigator’s gun, Carr struck Scott Harrell in the face, leading to a charge of obstruction of a law enforcement officer, the indictment alleges.

A final charge of misdemeanor criminal trespass is brought against Carr for reportedly knocking over and damaging a display case holding finger nail polish. Carter is charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
