Augusta technology firm acquires another rival

One of Augusta’s larger technology consulting firms has gotten larger.

EDTS announced Monday that it acquired of Axios Data LLC of Augusta, which was on Davis Road.

Axios was a 3-year-old IT firm. Axios Data’s principal Paul Pelletier will join EDTS as Network & Security Consultant as part of the transaction. All of the employees are moving over to EDTS too, at its Broad Street office.

"I have long had the highest degree of respect for EDTS due to our proximity and compatible business approach, and I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of the company,” Pelletier said.

EDTS merged with Augusta Information Technologies in October. It now has 40 employees.

Sam Patrick, the marketing director for EDTS, said there could be another merger or acquisition announcement in the coming 12 months.

“There are no share of market statistics that we can determine for the CSRA. But the CSRA is our home and we want to be the top players. So we’re going to continue to look at complementary groups like this,” Patrick said.
