Wild wings on the way to Augusta

OK, you saw the trees being cleared near Best Buy last week, in that little triangle of land near the BP gas station.
Buffalo Wild Wings will be building a restaurant there, according to Augusta's planning and zoning office.
Buffalo Wild Wings acknowledges that it is coming soon to Augusta, but is not full of details yet.

FAMILY BUSINESS: Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate Co. received the 2011 Georgia Family Business of the Year Award from the Cox Family Enterprise Center and Georgia Trend.

ENERGY STARS: Speaking of awards, the Kellogg Augusta Bakery was among seven Kellogg bakeries to get EPA ENERGY STAR rating for energy performance.
Green stats: Collectively, these facilities prevent more than 85,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually compared to average performing bakeries. According to the EPA, these bakeries use one-quarter less energy than similar plants across the country.
Since 2005, Kellogg has reduced its energy use and greenhouse gas emissions by 7.5 percent and 9.8 percent, respectively, per metric ton of food produced.

BRISKET: Sticky Fingers has moved beyond the pig. Smoked beef brisket now joins the menu at the smokehouse restaurant in Augusta Exchange.
Sticky Fingers said it was popular in its test markets, selling out consistently.
"This new menu item has been in development since last July." Now that's good a research and development job - eating brisket in Texas.

A GOOD LIST THAT WE AVOIDED: Orkin, the Atlanta-based bug extermination company, released its list of top 50 cities for bed bugs. Augusta is not among them, though Atlanta is. Where do the bed bugs bite the most? Cincinnati.
