Having a sense of humor

As the mayor of Augusta, Deke Copenhaver finds himself all over the city participating in various events almost on a daily basis.  And as photojournalists, we find ourselves covering said events - leading to a sense of "here we are again" when we run into the mayor for the third time in a week.

But consequently, our photo archive is filled with images of the mayor.  Proclamations, ribbon cuttings, prayer breakfasts, the Ironman, more proclamations, and today a flu vaccination clinic.

Walking into Warren Road Elementary School this morning to photograph Deke getting his flu "shot," I assumed (wrongly) that he'd be getting a needle poked into his arm.  But when the nurse approached him with a nasal mister after he had read a proclamation (there's that word again) declaring this week as Influenza Immunization Awareness Week, the photo op suddenly turned interesting.

And this is the resulting image.  The mayor getting sprayed in the nose.  Knowing the mayor, I'm sure he'll have a sense of humor about this, because lets face it - you chuckled at first glance.
