Daily Prospect Report: March 6

Games of March 6

Micah Johnson, White Sox: 3-5, SB. Johnson has one of the best run tools in the minor leagues. Bat should play average. Raw doesn't get enough credit.

Kyle Parker, Rockies: 1-2, 2B, RBI. Parker needs his power at full potential to max his value. The only other noticeable tool is a solid arm.

Tom Murphy, Rockies: 1-3, 2B, RBI, BB. Murphy has solid power potential from a good frame, and a good defensive profile behind the plate. He could stick as a second-division guy.

Carlos Sanchez, White Sox: 2-4, 2 RBI. The difference between many with Sanchez's profile is the lack of an impact bat, but he has a solid hit tool to pair with an excellent glove.

Jurickson Profar, Rangers: 2-4, HR, 4 RBI. Profar hit a grand slam and is making his presence felt in Rangers camp.

Addison Russell, Athletics: 2-2, 2B, 3B. The pride of the Oakland system. Russell nearly has plus/plus-potential tools across the board.

Allen Webster, Red Sox: 3 IP, H, K. Outstanding fastball. The kicker is command, as is usually the case with quick arms.

Trevor Bauer, Indians: 2 IP, 3 H, BB, 4 K. It's all about limiting walks for Bauer. Four strikeouts is a nice touch.

Chris Beck, White Sox: 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R/ER, 2 BB, K. Georgia Southern product has a solid fastball and a starter's body. The secondaries make for a No. 4 arsenal.

Profar, Rangers: Profar is expected to play defense in a game "sometime after the middle of the month." He's been at DH.

Manny Banuelos, Yankees: Scheduled for one inning in Saturday's game. First appearance since Tommy John surgery.

Marcus Stroman, Blue Jays: GM isn't counting out Stroman to make team out of spring training.

Oscar Tavares, Cardinals: Tavares underwent intensive baserunning, sliding and stopping drills. Said he felt "better than first time."

Taijuan Walker, Mariners: Walker threw and appeared fine Thursday. Was shut down for a week with shoulder inflammation.

Kyle Crick, Giants: Crick was assigned to minor league camp with a host of Giants minor leaguers.

Angel Villalona, Giants: Villalona was optioned to Triple-A Fresno.
