Prospect Link Wrap: Giants lists unveiled

This is a weekly feature wrapping up the previous week's prospect stories worth reading. ($) = subscription required.

Prospect Lists

Baseball America's San Francisco Giants top 10 - One of two Giants top 10 lists that came out recently. This one is more in line with how I view the system, with 2013 Augusta GreenJacket Chris Stratton ranked third and 2013 first-rounder Christian Arroyo ranked sixth. Catcher Andrew Susac is a notable absentee, which is also the case on FanGraphs' list.

FanGraphs' Giants top 10 - FanGraphs ranks 2013 GreenJackets Martin Agosta and Joan Gregorio very high, while Stratton barely makes the list at 10th. This might be a case of weighing their numbers with Augusta too heavily, as Stratton is largely viewed as the most talented and has the highest ceiling of the three.

Minor League Ball's Atlanta Braves top 10 - John Sickels is known to shake lists up at times, and this year's Braves list is quite different from others. Tommy La Stella is ranked second, which is higher than most - if not all - lists. The power arms of J.R. Graham and Jason Hursh are sixth and eighth, while David Hale is sandwiched between. Graham and Hursh both have higher ceilings than Hale.

Baseball America's San Diego Padres top 10 - The Padres system has lost some of its depth, but the top five remains strong.

Baseball America's Arizona Diamondbacks top 10 - Similar to the Padres system, the D'backs don't have a ton of depth, but the top is strong. Archie Bradley is one of the top arms in the game.

BaseballHQ's Philadelphia Phillies top 15 - The Phillies system remains pretty thin, but J.P. Crawford is an exciting addition from the draft.

Baseball Prospectus' Toronto Blue Jays top 10 - The Blue Jays have a ton of interesting arms, including No. 1 Marcus Stroman, who has a smaller build but big stuff. ($)

Bullpen Banter's Houston Astros top 10 - The Astros system continues to get stronger and deeper each year thanks to high placements in the draft. Their 5-10 arms would be automatic top 5 guys in many systems. Mark Appel, ranked third here, would be No. 1 in most systems.'s Padres All-Stars - Listing the best player at each position within the Padres minor league system.

Amateur Prospects

Perfect Game's top outfield velocities - Some of the arms on this list would make scouts salivate. Gainesville's Michael Gettys, a first-round talent in the 2014 draft, clocked 100 in a showcase this year and likely enters the draft with the best outfield arm in the class.

Perfect Game's top infield velocities - Windermere's Nicholas Gordon clocked 94 to lead high school infielders in velo for the 2014 draft class. Pace Academy's Jared Datoc was the top Georgian at 92.

Perfect Game's top 100 junior college prospects - Blinn (Texas) JC's Robbie Dickey is the top-ranked junior college prospect for the 2014 draft. ($)
