-There’s no debate for No. 1. It’s Thomson, and only Thomson, with a case for No. 1. Strom Thurmond is impressively unbeaten as well, but the Bulldogs have great wins. No one else can match the Burke County-Washington County combo.
-Though Silver Bluff won, the Bulldogs go down a spot. But it wasn’t just because of the close Barnwell win, as Washington-Wilkes should get more credit for beating Lincoln County.

Strom Thurmond can....They beat the #3 team in the state in 3A 42-7. That team had only given up 40 points on defense all year until ST played them. In 10 games, Swansea gave up 89 points on defense and 42 of them were to ST......Here is another stat for you....ST has scored 458 points on offense and allowed 114 on defense....That's great numbers, but it is even more impressive when you have those kind of numbers and your starters only play half of the ball game....ST pulls their starting offense and defense after the 1st series of the 3rd quarter.....ST doesn't pad stats....
Congrats to Thomson on a great undefeated season and I hope you guys bring home the title....
