My Weekly Power Poll

1. Thomson-3-0

2. Washington County-4-0

3. Burke County-2-1

4. Strom Thurmond-3-1

5. Silver Bluff-4-0

6. North Augusta-3-2

7. Laney-2-1

8. Washington-Wilkes-3-0

9. Aquinas-2-0

10. Lincoln County-2-1

Some poll thoughts:

-Another week, another No. 1 ranking for Thomson. The Bulldogs have been great this season, and the 21-14 win against St. Pius X only strengthens their grip on the top spot.

-The big change is North Augusta’s fall from No. 3. The Yellow Jackets lost at home to Sumter and got jumped by Burke County, Strom Thurmond and Silver Bluff.

-We have a top-10 matchup (at least in my poll) this week when Laney visits Washington County. It’s the first meeting in nine years.

-Wayne

This poll is

This poll is ridiculous....every week you guess keep ST at the same spot and move teams ahead of them as if they are not playing good football....ST's only loss was to a team that is ranked in the top 100 in the nation and they only lost the game by 4 points....You keep finding ways to not recognize one of the best, if not the best football team in the CSRA.....This is crazy to me.....ST will be facing (according to this poll) the #5 team in the CSRA and you don't even recognize that....But you do recognize Laney-vs-Washington County.....Why don't you just take ST off of your polls completely if you are not going to treat them fare and with respect...

I kept Strom Thurmond at four

I kept Strom Thurmond at four even with North Augusta's loss because Burke County beat a Class AAAAAA school on the road. I also think the three teams in front of the Rebels have better wins.

As for not mentioning Silver Bluff-Strom Thurmond, we focus on that for the Blitz.

Not one of those teams played

Not one of those teams played a team ranked in the top 100 in the nation....I guess Burke County lost to a better school that ST did...Every week its a different team leap frogging ST in your Bias poll. How many points does ST need to win by to be considered a good win.....BL was undefeated when we played them and so was Saluda and Saluda is a top 10 team in the state...NA won't put us back on the schedule and Laney dropped us as well.....Its hard to get quality wins when the local teams won't play you....NA won't play us because of the point system for the playoffs, but the real reason is, They would rather play Midland Valley and get the same gate and a win verse playing ST where they stand a huge chance in losing....Laney knew we were scheduled to play again this past season, but all of a sudden, they had someone else on their schedule.....

You mentioned a top 10 match up in Laney and Washington County, so the Blitz is no excuse...

Your poll is Bias and it has been for years....Why don't you take us out of your poll if you are not going to treat us fairly?

By the way....ST plays

By the way....ST plays another undefeated team this week and ranked 5th on your poll.....If ST wins this game, I guess I should look forward to Laney or NA because you might think they are playing a better quality team... leap frogging us this week
