GA High School Football-Week 3

Lincoln County (1-1) at Harlem (0-1)

The Bulldogs got blanked in their season-opening loss to Warren County and now must face another strong opponent in Lincoln County. The Red Devils have faced two South Carolina teams, so this will be the first Georgia foe this season. Expect an impressive winning margin in this one.

Lincoln County, 30-7

Burke County (0-1) at Josey (1-1)

It couldn't have gone much worse for Josey after taking a 7-0 lead just nine seconds into the game against Laney. Meanwhile, Burke County had an extra week to rebound from a loss to Baldwin. These two haven't met since 2001, and the Bears will probably be happier (at least this season) the series has returned.

Burke County, 31-10

Glenn Hills (0-1) at Evans (2-0)

The margins haven't been big, but the Knights keep on winning. Evans is now one victory away from starting 3-0 for the third time in four seasons. Standing in its way is Glenn Hills. Evans has won the first two games since the series returned in 2008, meaning the Spartans have lost three consecutive meetings to keep them winless against the Knights since 1977.

Evans, 27-13

Hephzibah (0-1) at Greenbrier (1-1)

After consecutive postseason appearances, Hephzibah hopes to avoid an 0-2 start in 2010. The Rebels have had an extra week to prepare, and Greenbrier took a tough seven-point loss to Richmond Academy last Friday. This is the teams' first meeting in seven years and the homefield edge could provide Greenbrier any extra push it needs.

Greenbrier, 20-17

Lakeside (1-1) at North Augusta (2-0)

Who budges more, the North Augusta offense or the Lakeside defense? Both units have been impressive so far, so expect the team that comes out on top on that side of the chess match to emerge victorious. Right now, the Yellow Jackets are clicking at an extremely high level and also have the crowd edge.

North Augusta, 24-21

Aquinas (2-0) at Social Circle (0-2)

A win here moves the Fighting Irish to 3-0 as Aquinas gets ready to start region play next weekend. Social Circle hasn't won yet, so expect Aquinas to come through for its first 3-0 start since 2004, when it began the year 5-0.

Aquinas, 35-24

Dodge County (0-2) at Laney (1-1)

After getting smothered by the great Strom Thurmond defense in Week 1, the Wildcats erupted for 56 points against rival Josey. How will Laney's offense do this week? It probably won't dominate like it did against the Eagles, but Laney seems to be on the cusp of a nice run. This game opens up region play.

Laney, 28-17

Jefferson County (1-0-1) at Screven County (0-2)

The Warriors and Gamecocks begin region play, and Jefferson County looks ready to continue its dominance in this series. The Warriors have won four in a row to Screven County, including a 35-0 drubbing last season. The Warriors should score plenty of points again.

Jefferson County, 38-17
