Cudos! is involved in a new enterprise

Cudos! has a new division and has gotten bigger. The west Augusta-based gift, floral and recognition company has combined with the Augusta promotional products company Dan Cook Associates, which allows for the new division called Cudos4u Awards and Promotions.

Dan Cook has retired after 30 years in the business, so his children and business partners joined Cudos! – operating out of the Dan Cook office on Greene Street and the Cudos! store on Augusta West Parkway. A second gift store, Cudos2U, opened in Evans a year ago.

With the two stores and the new awards, recognition and promotions division, the Cudos! empire now has 60 employees.

TITLE ELIGIBLE: Goodwill Industries reported that its newly-constructed Helms College on Washington Road in Martinez was granted Title IV eligibility by the U.S. Department of Education. Qualified students attending Helms College are now eligible to participate in various federal student aid programs such as Pell grants, deferred student loans and work-study programs.

Culinary classes started there three weeks ago.

VIA TUSCANY: That’s the name of Olive Garden’s remodeling program. The restaurant in Augusta underwent that remodeling, which should make it look more like every other Olive Garden in the country. Olive Garden remodeled 20 restaurants this fall.

The Augusta restaurant’s interior and exterior have been updated with the new design elements, which closely mirror the design elements of the Olive Garden restaurants built to resemble a Tuscan farmhouse, inspired by the farmhouses that dot the landscape throughout the Tuscany region of Italy.
