If you're pressed for time, the Vallarta Mexican Restaurants have always been great choices for a quick meal. The Wrights­boro Road restaurant continued to meet that expectation on a recent Sunday.

Chips and salsa were on the table before Lunch Buddy Donna,  Longtime Lunch Companion Susan and I were settled in our seats . Our drinks  were in hand while we were still perusing menus, and our food was delivered within 10 minutes. We were out of there in 45 minutes, and that includes some post-meal table talk.

The chips were warm and the salsa was distinctive, with hints of cilantro and lime. Good stuff.

Entrees were cheap, filling and good. Lunch combos are served until 3 p.m., and I had a beef burrito and enchilada combo while Donna chose a chimichanga. Susan had chicken soup and salad. It was all good, a cut above the average fare at Augusta Mexican restaurants.

The dining room was clean ,  and the seats were  comfortable. The windows need a thorough cleaning, though. The glass exterior was so dirty it was as if you were looking out a window in an ocean-side restaurant where the salt spray has evaporated on the pane.

With tip, the tab came to a bit more than $32, a litt le  above the Lunch Money goal of $10 per meal. Stick with lunch specials, though, and you can eat well here for a modest cost.
