They must have a great business school at Augusta State University: One of my Luncheonettes graduated from there recently, and bless his heart, chose a reasonable excursion for his celebratory meal: Fujiyama Steakhouse and Sushi Bar on Washington Road.
Luncheonette Tharon knows value when he sees it. You get good food, a show and great company at a bargain price. We fed seven for $85.70, including drinks, a glass of wine for the grad, and a 20 percent tip.
Entrees were exemplary. Six of us ordered the meat combo plates that included entrees, soup and salad, while vegetarian Luncheonette Michael ordered sushi. Shrimp, chicken and steak and vegetables were cooked to order and delicious, as was the rice. I was surprised by the amount of soy sauce (Japanese catsup, according to our tableside chef) that went into the dishes, but I guess that's one of the reasons it tasted so good.
The clear soup was a winner, but the salad was drowned in dressing. Order it on the side.
The chef had his patter down, entertaining with his onion volcano and subtle humor. He was attentive and professional.
The waiters kept drink glasses filled and whisked away dishes as needed.
The main dining room was spacious but intimate. The group area for the tableside food preparation where we sat was more intimate, with seats arranged around the grilling area. This made conversation hard for those at each end of the area, but we managed.

Fujiyama is the best Japanse around in my opinion. Everyone should try it. The amount of food and quality you get for the money can't be beat!! Take home is even better, for those nights you crave the taste but don't want to go out or don't have the time and its still hot when you get there. I think I'm addicted!! lol

Do try it. It is awesome. They have share plates also that helps the cost as you get a ton of food. Come out and support them to keep them around. No I don't work there, just am addicted! lol Take out is great also, actually even better to me and still hot when you get home!! Its a lot of food and you can add extra of what you need. I get the Hibatchi chicken and shrimp, it can't be beat!!!! They have awesome clear soup as well, best in town!! And the rice and veggies and noodles... oh my!! lol

*lol*...We all enjoyed the piles of food and entertaiment for 250.00 (no booze) for three adults, and two small girls that weigh less than 77lbs and 50lbs...granted we did have a couple side dishes such as sushi and the girls ordered there own plate of food.
. I gather it could be done for 85.00.

TakeAstand,
Off topic....sorry, I recently replied to your questions on the other subject
Holy cow that's alot for 5
Holy cow that's alot for 5 people. The dinners are about 15 or less a piece for like chicken or shrimp and add drinks in ( no alch) and with tip it would have been no more than 100. We have taken 5 adults for less than 100 easy. Must be some expensive sushi!!!! lol But wasn't it delicious? My hubby, myself and my son get the take home at least once or twice a month, hubby n son dont eat the soup n salad, but we get a chicken n shrimp combo, add a side of chicken and extra noodles and its less than 25 bux, and we all get filled easy off it. They also have share plates for things like the soup n salad and veggies I think, that helps cut the cost because there is soooo much food. You almost always have take home!! lol
I checked out the other post
I checked out the other post and responded back too. I've enjoyed chatting with you. Sounds like you can have rational civilized debates. Sometimes that is hard to find on here! lol
TAS (if I may), Yep, that is
TAS (if I may),
Yep, that is a whole lot. We have only been to Fujiyama once and we decided only to go on special occasions by request.. because of the $250 (including tip, no ETOH) sticker shock. This was the one and only time we went as of yet.. is when my brother visited from Kansas(ewww) Dorothy and Total tornado land...anyways,.. it being a special ocassion.. not one of us held back on ordering the most expensive meal and extra's such as a sushi platter and extra shrimp tempura dishes. To be fair, each adult had two orders, ..one with the cook/entertainer preparing our meal in front of us and another plate that came seperately...ie shrimp tempura plates including soups & a sushi platter....Looking @ 20/20 hind site, I gather our family will go on regular dinner outtings and try keep our meal less then a 100 bucks...see TAS, it's all your fault!...*just kidding*
Yes.. we all enjoyed and thought our food was delicious. We ~each~ was able to take home a full plate of extra food for later.
