I was born in Los Angeles, Calif. but have never lived anywhere long enough to call it a home town. I have, in chronological order, been considered a resident of Los Angeles, Portland, Houston, Augusta, England, Sacramento, and Washinton State. I'm a graduate of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and Western Washington University (B.A. - Journalism) and covered arts and entertainment at the Augusta Chronicle from 1999 to 2010. I am the current News Editor at the Columbia County News-Times.

Augusta gets Green. Al Green.

I believe the only people who don't love Al Green are the people who have never heard Al Green.

For the rest of us, there's good news.

The fine folks at the Westobou Festival have confirmed that Al Green will close the festival with a concert Saturday, Sept. 25 at Bell Auditorium. Ticket prices have not been set yet, but they are scheduled to go on sale July 1.

I was fortunate enough to see Green perform last year. I'm here to tell you, Augusta is in for a treat. He still has an incredible voice, incredible presence and, of course, incredible songs. I'm posting his 2005 Kennedy Center Honors performance of the classic Let's Stay Together.
