Hello Hockey fans.
I have two pairs of tickets to give away for Thursday's RiverHawks game - one here and one on our Facebook page. Post a comment to be eligible. You have to create a profile to post comments under my blog. Look at the top right of the page to see that link.
Check back at 5pm today (Tuesday February 26th) on both places to see who won. Share our Facebook post and this blog and let your friends in on the action. The winner will be able to pick up their tickets at the front desk of The Chronicle building at 725 Broad St before 5pm Thursday.
If you have never been to a local hockey game, you should definitely give it a try. The action is fast-paced and everyone has a good time. If you don't win the tickets, you should go anyway. It's not that expensive, and we need to support our local teams. Also, these next few games will be crucial to making the playoffs. See David Lee's story. Go cheer them on.
Send me an email if you have any questions. sean.moores@augustachronicle.com
I'll have more tickets to give away soon. I already have some Little River Band/Atlanta Rhythm Sections tickets that I will be giving away next month, but I'm sure I'll get others before then.
Good luck. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need help with anything.

Hey, all you folks above,
Hey, all you folks above, PLEASE come out anyway and support the team, freebies or not!!
It sounds like you all like the game, so it is a shame if you don't come out and have some fun. Grab a friend or neighbor to bring with you.
On March 16, weather permitting, there will a group of fans having their monthly tailgate get together in the parking lot next to the railroad tracks. 1 rule; if you bring meat for the grill, bring buns to serve it. Otherwise, people bring a quantity of something that is enough for their group. Everything is shared and there is always plenty. Heck, we've served a couple of hundred back in the Lynx days.
If you don't know anyone, bring a group of friends and hang out. Huge grill is hot at 4PM.
Congratulations

We are working on that story now. This game has been rescheduled to March 14th at 7:35pm. The tickets can also be exchanged. See their statement below.
If you currently have tickets (including season tickets) for the Feb. 28 and/or March 2 games, those tickets can be exchanged for any of our remaining regular-season home games. Tickets must be exchanged either at the Arena Box Office or through the RiverHawks' Front Office. Please call us at 706 993 2645 with any questions. An official statement from the James Brown Arena is forthcoming.

I have such great memories of
I have such great memories of taking the kids to Fayetteville to the hockey games when the team first began up there. It was about a 45 minute drive there from where we lived. I made it to a Columbia Inferno game too---about an hour from where I was living at that time.
