New Weather Question of the Week

It's time again to test your weather knowledge.

The Weather Question of the Week has returned, and an Augusta Chronicle coffee mug is up for grabs.

Before we get started, I'd like to thank those who responded to our first question, including last week’s winner, Bath resident Patricia Reynolds.

Because of your great response, the weather question contest continues.

That said, here's this week's question: How far away from a thunderstorm can lightning strike?

Just post an answer below as well as send an e-mail to preston.sparks@augustachronicle.com including your answer, name, Chronicle user name and a phone number.

The contest begins now and will continue until Monday, July 27.

Unless there is a tie, the participant who gets closest to the answer will win. If more than one person responds with the exact or closest answer, one winner will be randomly selected to receive a Chronicle coffee mug mailed to their home.

Check back Monday on my blog for the answer and an annoucement of the winner.

Good luck!
