Georgia Drug Card provides prescription drug assistance

Georgia residents have access to a statewide discount prescription drug card program called Georgia Drug Card.

All residents are eligible to receive pharmacy discounts through the Georgia Drug Card program, which can be used to supplement most health insurance plans including Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and high deductible plans. It can also be used to supplement Medicare Part D by providing discounts on non-covered drugs, according to Georgia Drug Card’s Web site.

Visit georgiadrugcard.com to create and print a free, discount prescription drug card. The program has no enrollment forms, age or income requirements, waiting periods, eligibility requirements or exclusions. It also has no claim forms to file and no annual or lifetime limits and covers pre-existing conditions.

Georgia Drug Card will provide prescription savings of up to 75 percent at more than 56,000 pharmacies across the country, including CVS, Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Fred’s, Harvey’s, Kmart, Target and Walgreens. The average savings is 30 percent. The card is pre-activated and can be used immediately. The program includes discounts on brand and generic medications.
