Several local restaurants are honoring veterans and active duty or retired military with free meals for Veterans Day.
On Nov. 11, Applebee’s is giving away a free, signature entree. Applebee’s will have a Veterans Day menu with several dishes, including the 7 ounce house sirloin, bacon cheddar cheeseburger, three cheese chicken penne, chicken tenders platter, oriental chicken salad, fiesta lime chicken and double crunch shrimp, according to a release.
Guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
The offer is valid for dine-in only. Traditional sides are included with the free entrees. For this offer, the two for $20 appetizers, upgraded side items or extras, beverages, desserts and gratuity are not included.
Golden Corral will have its Military Appreciation Day dinner on Nov. 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. The free meal is for anyone who has served in the U.S. military, dine-in only. No ID is required. Friends and family can accompany the military personnel, but they cannot receive a free meal.
Red Roof Inn is honoring veterans and active duty or retired military with a special 15 percent discount during the month of November, as well as an additional 11 percent off their stay on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Veterans can save a total of 26 percent off when staying at a participating Red Roof on Veterans Day, according to a release. Proof of present or past military service must be provided.
