Perfect Gift Sale

Through Monday, Macy’s is having its “Perfect Gift Sale.” Customers can find storewide savings of 25 to 50 percent off clothing, coats, handbags, jewelry, houseware items and luggage. Shoppers can save an extra 25 percent off with a Friends and Family savings pass.

Here are some other sales at local retailers:

J.C. Penney: Through Tuesday, J.C. Penney’s holiday sale includes 25 percent off the entire stock of fashion watches, 30 to 60 percent off jewelry and 50 to 60 percent off women’s boots.

Kohl’s: On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kohl’s is having a two-day sale. The entire stock of sweaters, games and toys are 50 percent off. Clothing, jewelry, handbags, shoes and houseware items are 40 to 60 percent off. For each $50 spent, customers receive $10 in Kohl’s cash. Senior citizens will receive 15 percent off their purchases on these shopping days.

Belk: Starting today, Belk is giving 50 percent off its entire stock of kids’ holiday dresswear. All women’s dresses and pantsuits are 30 to 40 percent off. Women’s boots are 40 percent off and ladies’ coats are 50 percent off. The sale ends Thursday, Dec. 17.

Dillard’s: At Dillard’s, ladies’ coats are $99 everyday. Also, Dillard’s has 100 percent, two-ply ladies’ cashmere sweaters for $69. With any Estee Lauder fragrance purchase, Dillard’s customers can get a deluxe edition of Estee Lauder favorites for $55. The gift set contains makeup valued at more than $300.

Through Saturday, Dec. 19, the store’s entire stock of pre-lit Christmas trees are 40 percent off.

In addition, Dillard’s is selling a custom edition of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook on sale for $10. The hardbound book contains more than 400 recipes. Proceeds will benefit the local Ronald McDonald House.

Tina,

I think your article misrepresented any sale at Dillards. Specifically the coats.  The everyday coat for $99 is just that.  Alway's $99, not on sale.  I have been waiting for some of their other coats to go on sale but they do not.  When I read your article, I thought that maybe Dillards was having a coat sale, No way. Compared to their competition, they feature very few sale items.  The only things truly on sale in your article were the trees and the Cookbook.  No wonder their stores are empty while others are bustling.

I mentioned in my original post: "At Dillard’s, ladies’ coats are $99 everyday." I indicated this was an everyday price. I only mentioned it because for a coat, it wasn't a bad price.
