Spring forward

Remember, Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 a.m. this Sunday, March 11. Move your clocks forward one hour before going to bed Saturday night or you'll be late to church!

Speaking of Sunday, have you heard of the Empty Bowl Luncheon? It's 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. this Sunday at the Augusta Jewish Community Center, and raises money for both the Golden Harvest Food Bank and community center. Volunteers at the fundraiser serve up nearly 40 varieties of soup, along with handmade bowls crafted by school kids around the community. Organizers told me earlier this week that they'd like to encourgage church groups to stop in after Sunday services.

Look for a story about the Empty Bowl Luncheon on Friday at augustachronicle.com and in Your Faith in print on Saturday. In the meantime, go to emptybowlcsra.org for advance ticket information. The cost is $15 for adults or $5 for kids, but increases to $20 for adults and $7.50 for kids if you wait to buy tickets at the door.
