Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church hosts an epic annual consignment sale. The two-day sale, which unloads literally tons of children's items, benefits more than 30 missions through the church.
WHEN: The sale is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 18. Consignors must register by Sept. 5. (Volunteers shop a Sept. 16 pre-sale. Contact the church for details.)
WHERE: Because of renovations at the church, the sale has been moved to 3360 Wrightsboro Road, in the former Rooms To Go and Rhodes Furniture building.
THE SALE: More than 300 consignors offer up used children's clothes and items. Consignors take home 60 percent of the proceeds, while the remaining 40 percent benefits local, national and international missions of Trinity-on-the-Hill. The church accepts cash, checks, Mastercard and Visa.
QUOTE: "Since 40 percent goes to mission we're looking for ways to grow the number of consignors who can move some outgrown stuff out of their home, add some great items and help a great variety of partners," said the Rev. Scott Parrish, the pastor of outreach and missions ministries.
MISSIONS GIVING: More than 30 missions are helped by the sale. They include providing Bibles to jails, service projects in the U.S. and abroad and several international missionaries.
