Summer is here and the heat is on! Firecrackers (boom bang) and beautiful bright lights will fill the air. People will be eating, drinking and having fun. As you prepare for the celebration, here are a few tips:
Tip # 1. Fill up on fresh fruits and vegetables this Fourth of July.
Tip # 2 Choose your fats sensibly.
Tip # 3 Drink lots of water and decrease your intake of alcohol.
Tip # 4 Create a new summer dish using fresh fruits and vegetables.
Tip # 5 Add a physical activity that everyone can participate and enjoy to the celebration.

For those of you with Chronic Kidney Disease watch out for those foods especially fruits and vegetables that are high in calcium, phosphorus potassium and sodium. Please, please stay hydrated and watch your fluid intake to avoid fluid overload. I look forward to hearing from you.
