WHAT’S AFFORDABLE
We all want vacation photos, but taking your smartphone or camera to the beach or poolside is a nerve-wracking experience if you dare. Water damage is rarely covered by warranties, and the choice between possibly having to buy a new phone and getting photos of your sand castle usually ends in no photos at all. To the rescue comes iPhone Scuba Suit from PhotoJojo.com.
The Scuba Suit is only $60 and 100 percent waterproof. Better yet, the screen is still totally usable just like you were caseless. You can take your iPhone up to 15 feet underwater in this case, and an optical-grade lens cover keeps your camera producing crisp, sharp photos.
Another great water case is the Lifeproof, with much of the same features as the Scuba Suit. The Lifeproof store (at Lifeproof.com) also carries waterproof headphones, so you can listen to music stress-free while floating in the pool or swimming in the ocean. This case is $79.99, a lot cheaper than the hundreds of dollars you would have to spend to replace a water-damaged iPhone.
WHAT’S NEW
What do Target and Neiman Marcus stores have in common? Maybe not too much on the surface, but the stores are leveraging each other’s strong suits in a limited-time collection Dec. 1.
This cooperative effort is reminiscent of Target’s designer collections like Missoni and Jason Wu, but this time it’s a two-way street. Not only will Target get to carry pieces with big names on the tags, but Neiman Marcus stores will carry pieces significantly more affordable than the rest of their store. They’re hoping to lure new shoppers in who ordinarily wouldn’t have considered them a shopping option at all.
A lot of the details are fuzzy, but it’s a little comforting to see that even Neiman’s isn’t immune to our challenging economy.
