Prospect Link Wrap: Gray leads good Rockies farm system

Prospect Lists

Baseball America's Colorado Rockies top 10 - Jonathan Gray, the third overall pick in 2013 out of Oklahoma, heads a pretty good Rockies list. The Colorado system has seen swings in development with some players, including David Dahl, who lost a year of development in 2013 because of disciplinary issues and a sprained ankle. Asheville's Eddie Butler and Rosell Herrera made huge strides this past season and sit 2 and 3, respectively.

 

Baseball Prospectus' Detroit Tigers top 10 - The Tigers system remains weak, but Nick Castellanos is a solid talent at 1, and Jonathon Crawford has a live arm at 2. ($)

 

Baseball America's Los Angeles Dodgers top 10 - After consecutive outstanding seasons, Joc Pederson earned a No. 1 ranking in an improving Dodgers system. Corey Seager sits 2, while newly-signed Alexander Guerrero is 7.

 

MiLB.com's Pittsburgh Pirates minor league All-Stars - Organizational All-Stars for the Pittsburgh system.

 

MiLB.com's Oakland Athletics All-Stars - Organizational All-Stars for the Oakland system.

 

Amateur prospects

Perfect Game's college top 50 draft prospects - Perfect Game's top 50 for the post-fall period has N.C. State's Carlos Rodon at 1 and East Carolina's Jeff Hoffman at 2. The Wolfpack show their talent level with shortstop Trea Turner at 3. Kennesaw State catcher Max Pentecost is 8. South Carolina's Joey Pankake is 30. ($)
