Agosta set to return to mound Sunday

Augusta GreenJackets right-hander Martin Agosta is scheduled to come off the disabled list and return to the mound Sunday.

Manager Mike Goff confirmed Agosta is set to be activated and start Sunday against the Asheville Tourists. A corresponding move hasn't been announced yet.

Agosta returned from the disabled list July 5 to throw 4.2 innings against the Charleston RiverDogs before leaving with a blister. He had originally been placed on the disabled list and missed one start because of a tired arm.

The added rest will likely help Agosta, who has made just the one start this month and four since the beginning of June.

Goff also said reliever Stephen Johnson is expected to be activated from the disabled list in the coming days, possibly as soon as Sunday. Johnson was placed on the disabled list with a sore right shoulder and hasn't appeared since July 1 when he allowed two runs in an inning against the Kannapolis Intimidators. He has thrown 32.1 innings with a 5.57 ERA and 3.42 FIP this season.
