Job seekers, make plans to attend a major job fair today at Augusta State.
Augusta State University’s Christenberry Fieldhouse will host the Greater Augusta Employer Committee’s third annual job fair on Thursday, June 25.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and more than 50 employers are expected to attend. Employers will be discussing current job openings, discussing future job openings or some combination of the two, so bring plenty of copies of your resume.
A Georgia Department of Labor release says employers expected to participate include:
ACRUX Staffing, AFLAC-EZZELL, Augusta State University, Augusta Tech, Brenau University, Career Personnel, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, East Central Regional Hospital, FPL Foods, Home Depot, Limestone College, Sitel, Sizemore, Spherion, Troy University, University of Phoenix, USDA Forest Service, and WJBF-TV.
Applicants are encouraged to bring copies of their resume, be prepared to fill out job applications on the spot and dress appropriately for interview opportunities.
State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says the Georgia Department of Labor’s Augusta Career Center will be assisting with the job fair.
“Our job fairs and career expos have long proven to be effective tools for matching good employers with qualified job seekers,” Thurmond said. “I encourage job seekers to attend and take full advantage of the resources that will be available at this job fair, as well as those at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Augusta Career Center.”
