Salute an outstanding young person!
The Augusta Chronicle is accepting nominations for Community Counts Youth of the Month. This award recognizes good students who also have special talents in the arts, athletics or other areas. Youths who volunteer in their school, church or community also are worthy of nomination. The child selected as Youth of the Month will be highlighted in an article in The Augusta Chronicle. A banquet will be held next summer to honor all 12 recipients of the award and their family members. Nominees must be age 8 to 18 and be residents of the Aiken-Augusta area at the time of entry. Children may be nominated by a relative, family friend, teacher or someone else.

Nomination forms are available online at augustachronicle.com/communitycounts/nominate. Finalists will be notified by phone and an interview will be scheduled. Nominations from previous months will be kept on file for one year and considered at each judging. For more information on the nomination process, call (706) 823-3223 or e-mail sarah.owen@augustachronicle.com. Immediate family members of employees of The Augusta Chronicle, Morris Communications Co., and Community Counts sponsors are ineligible for competition.
