Music by Turner: Hit hits from Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Browne at the Bell

The first time I was exposed to the music of Jackson Browne was through the Eagles’ first hit single Take it Easy.

It was May 1972, when I first heard that iconic Eagles hit on WAUG-FM. Although I did not know it at the time, Browne had co-written the song with Glenn Frey.

Browne’s debut album Saturate Before Using followed the next year with the hit single Doctor My Eyes leading the way.

Hit after hit followed, with singles and albums selling more than 18 million copies to date that include The Pretender, Running on Empty, Somebody’s Baby and Lawyers in Love.

FOR EVERYMAN DEPT. Browne, who was elected into the Rock &Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, will make his first Augusta appearance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Bell Auditorium.

He is touring with multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz who will assist Browne with his numerous hits and album tracks.

Tickets start at a very reasonable $39.50 but the seats are selling very well, so why wait?

Locals must continue to support top-notch talent that promoters are bringing to Augusta.

Jackson Browne at the Bell? Be there!
